DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASS A AND CLASS C MOTORHOMES

Before we get into the new models, let’s go over what the difference between a Class A and Class C motorhome is. Class C motorhomes are generally the smaller models, although not like the large vans (which are Class B motorhomes). They’re still fairly sizeable and give you plenty of room to spread out. Their shorter length makes it easier to get into any campground, especially national and state parks. Their size also makes them easier to drive and probably less overwhelming than Class A motorhomes. They’re generally the cheaper option, and if you like the way a Class C drives, but want something a little bigger and nicer, you can check out Super C RVs, which are shaped like Class C motorhomes, but look and feel more like Class A motorhomes.

So what’s a Class A motorhome? Class A motorhomes are the largest motorhomes and come with more amenities, especially if you get a newer model. Some are equipped with slide-out sections that expand the living area. They’re ideal for people who spend a great deal of time on the road or have a large family. They also generally require a little practice before you’re used to driving them, but they come with a bigger windshield that isn’t obstructed by any part of the motorhome. They’re often more luxurious, but that also makes them more expensive. If you’re not going to need the room or the extra comforts, it may not be worth it to drop the extra money, but if you need it, you’ll probably love what you find.

2018 CLASS A MOTORHOMES

For the coming year, Jayco has a couple of new models of their Class A motorhomes, including the 2018 Precept. Along with all the standard superior mechanical workings, this motorhome also comes with high ceilings equipped with LED lighting to give you lots of light without draining your battery. Your passengers will be able to sit anywhere with seatbelts in every seating position on your rig and cable hookup for your downtime and a TV in the bedroom to match. There are even some models that come with bunk beds if you need some extra sleeping areas. It’s the perfect place to return to after a long day outdoors and even the perfect place for those days when you just want to stay in.

2018 CLASS C MOTORHOMES

If space isn’t as important and you’d like to save a little money, there are also lots of Class C models rolling out with the new year, including the 2018 Melbourne. The 2018 Melbourne comes with over 6.5 feet of ceiling height and energy-saving LED lights. You’ll have the option of two televisions if you have a hard time deciding on what to watch and all the standard kitchen appliances for easy meal prep. And you’ll have a nice, warm queen-sized bed to crash in every night. Some models come with the Dream Dinette™ mechanism on their booth dinettes, so you won’t miss out on a proper dining room just because it’s a smaller RV.

We’ve really only skimmed the surface on these new models, so the only way to see them in person is to drop by Charlie Obaugh RV Center in Staunton, Virginia and see them for yourself. We welcome all patrons from the areas of Waynesboro, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Lexington, Virginia.
